Every now and then but not generally a new concept from any car maker seems to blow us away. This happened yet another time with the introduction by Cadillac of its new Ciel. It was revealed in a foggy country club lawn at Pebble Beach in Calif.
The most amazing aspect was the fact that General Motor was not afraid to bring back its luxury brand which was once termed as a politically incorrect car. It has also been coined the name of a luxury barge for its previous releases. The car is a long and a beautiful player of the automotive arena. The design seems to be sleek and eye catchy. It’s been years that GM had been down sized he aspect of luxury to its smaller cars. However with this release GM has made a statement that the brand is not out of the race for the longer variants.
The move is termed to be significant with the big and beautiful car back in the GM’s den. But this time around the company needs to make the right steps and make the best efforts to make the brand stand out. The designer Clay Dean mentioned:
“We believe it’s a responsible size size that is consistent with what Cadillac is known for,”
As per the marketing chief Joel Ewanick the company doesn’t aim to be like any other luxury brands and prove that CIel is one of the most beautiful cars around and not a replica of any of the existing players. This in turn tends to suggest that the company feels that the car stands out alone in the field of luxury which has been forced to be too much alike in all the other competitors.
The car is big in size but one cannot consider it to be a wasteful or waste of space. The design has been done magnificently utilising each quarter to give it a unique look. The car has been powered by a twin-turbocharged version of a 3.6-liter direct injection. The engine is a V6 hybrid system which uses the lithium-ion battery technology.
The dashboard of the beauty i.e. Ciel has got a remarkably smooth finish. It has been well designed and seems to be uncluttered. The car is a four door variant with ample space for both the front and back passengers. It has a unique seatbelt which could double as a blanket if the top-down driving becomes a chilly affair.
The launch of the car comes in as a great statement from the company with its re-entry to the respective segment of cars. It definitely catches the eye of every car lover but its now to be seen that how well it gets accepted by them in the coming days.
