The beauty PORSCHE which was once the property of Hollywood legendary actor Steve McQueen has recently been sold for a whooping $1.375. The car is of stale grey colour and dates back to the 1970s generation. The exact name of the car is Porsche 911S which in its times was one of the best as well as a popular car. The car was owned by the legendary actor in the movie named “L Mans” where he played the role of a racing driver who was competing in the all famous 24 hours Le Mans event. This beauty was driven by McQueen along the French countryside and appeared prologue in the film.
The auction was handled by RM Auctions on 19th August this month. It was held at Monterey California and the price which it was sold was the highest ever paid for a Porsche. If one wishes to purchase a similar car without the tag of the celebrity they could get it with some of the old folks or owners for about $50,000 or more.
However if it was compared to be a car of an notable enthusiasts garage for the sale price it is far from making a record for itself. Earlier in the year 2007 a Ferari owned by McQueen (Ferari 250) was sold for$2.3 million which was about 5 times the actual prevailing amount for the same generation cars in the market.
